This was a difficult bible plan for me. My darling daughter has been begging for it but I have never seen the movie. I did quite a bit of research before finally getting a bible plan idea in place. Mulan is about honor, family, and bravery. The bible has plenty of lessons on that. If I haven't interpreted something correctly or if you interpret it differently let me know in the comments. I look forward to hear from all of you!
So my rug in my living room has gotten shall we say toxic! I started the bad habit of allowing my two year to eat lunches, snacks, etc at our coffee table in the living room. Underneath the coffee table is my beautiful rug. After around a year of doing this the rug looked very grungy. I considered just throwing in the towel and buying a new one. Carpet cleaners by hand didn't help and my Kirby carpet cleaner is a joke (yes, I feel into the scheme hook line and sinker and paid quadruple for a vacuum cleaner that does no better than a normal one). Then I stumbled upon a new recipe for carpet cleaner. I tried it on a small spot first then went carpet cleaning crazy on my rug. After about an hour and a half it was like brand new. So what is this amazing recipe you ask? All items you probably already have in your pantry.
3 cups of water 1 cup vinegar 1 teaspoon of blue dawn dishwashing liquid 1 old rag 1 iron Step 1: Mix water, vinegar, and dawn in a small bowl. Step 2: Dip rag into mixture and wring out excess. Step 3: Place rag on spot and press down a bit. Step 4: Iron over the rag where the spot is. (It will smoke a little because you are basically steam cleaning your carpet) Step 5: Use rag to gently scrub area. Viola! Magic! The stain is gone! For more stubborn stains it may need to be done a couple times but very rarely more than three. That's it! Carpet cleaning magic! Now I just have to train my toddler to eat at the kitchen table! I think the carpet cleaning will be easier! Tonight we went over the Brave/ Merida Bible Plan. E really seemed to enjoy this. This is one of her favorite movies so it wasn't too shocking. She has had a tough time with making friends in school and getting along with other kids her age. She is very quiet at school (which is the complete opposite of how she is at home or anywhere else for that matter) and if kids say anything mean to her she really takes it to heart. We have been trying to teach her to stand up for herself. Hopefully she will begin to see herself the way I see her. I told her she reminds me of the Bruno Mars song, "Just the Way You Are." For those not familiar the lyrics they are here, http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/brunomars/justthewayyouare.html. I wish she could feel for herself the way we feel for her. The chorus says, "When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change 'Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile The whole world stops and stares for a while 'Cause, girl, you're amazing Just the way you are." |
