Little Mermaid Bible Plan
What is your favorite part of the movie?
Do you like the part where Ariel is showing off the treasures she has found?
Do you ever find treasures? What kinds?
In the bible God talks about treasures too. In Matthew 6:19-20 it says, 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” What do you think God is saying here?
You can have the fanciest car, the biggest house, and the best clothes but when you go to Heaven you can’t take any of it with you. What are some treasures you will have in Heaven?
Also in the story Ariel loses her voice to the evil queen, Ursula. Ariel gets to meet Eric and spend time with him but she cannot talk to him. What kind of things can Ariel do to help Eric understand what she’s trying to say without being able to talk?
Ariel had to trust that God will lead Eric to her. Exodus 14:14 says,” 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” When you are afraid all you need to do, is trust in God and wait for him to lead you down the right path.
At the end of the movie Ariel’s father grants her the ability to be with Eric by giving her legs to live on the land. Does this sound like another story in the bible? In Luke 5:17-19 Jesus healed a man who was paralyzed by simply telling him to pick up his mat and walk.
The bible verse to remember today is Exodus 14:14, let’s write it down and say it ten times to help us remember. Is there any other bible stories you know of that could relate to The Little Mermaid? Let’s read it together.

Rapunzel Bible Plan
What is your favorite part of the movie Rapunzel?
What makes Rapunzel special compared to other princesses? (If the child does not say hair, try to lead them to that J.) There is a man in the bible who was known for having hair that was special to? Have you ever heard of a man named Samson? Samson is found in Judges 13-16. You may also choose to read this in a children’s bible story book to make it more “kid-friendly”. What made Samson so strong? What was special about Rapunzel’s hair?
Rapunzel escaped from her “mother” Gothel . Rapunzel had never left the tower before and must have been very scared. Have you ever been scared before? What was it that you were afraid of? How did God protect you in the situation? Rapunzel had to be very brave traveling in an area she had never been to before with someone she barely knew. There is someone else in the bible that was very brave and relied on God to protect him. His name was David (1 Samuel 17). He stood up to the giant, Goliath and was able to defeat him because God was with him. Rapunzel had to rely on God to protect her when she was in an unknown place. That was very brave of her. When have you had to be brave? Did it feel better knowing God was on your side during your time of need?
In the bible there is a verse about being brave in Deuteronomy 31:6 it says, “6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” What is God saying to you in this verse? How can this help us to be brave every day?
